Wait...Wait...Don't Smell Me...

Ok, we have now come to our first rest day on the trip.  We are staying in the basement of St Stephen's church in lovely Middlebury,VT.  There is a kitchen, regular bathroom and shower with a bathroom.

Today, everyone needed to clear their stuff cubbies and food cubbies to air out the trailer  - I can only imagine how ripe that trailer will be when we hit Washington State... (In case you are wondering what lurks in my food cubby...check out the pic)

Sony and I were up just after 7am.  After we navigated the dark basement that was littered with bikers nestled in their sleeping bag cacoons...  We headed off to the laundromat to wash EVERYTHING in our bags.

Had a long leisurely breakfast while drying out clothes... We stopped at the bike shop to get a new tire for Sony's front wheel (thanks to Connor who helped change it)

Legs relaxing...

Trying hard to book a massage on out day off...no luck yet but crossing fingers and toes...

In the meantime, laying in the grass on the  town green while the breeze rustles the leaves in the tree above me.

This is the life.

  1. Michelle, I love hearing about this trip -- inspires me to try to do something similar (though possibly in a very flat area) someday. :)

  2. Jen - I cannot tell you how brilliant the "start somewhere flat" idea is - the ride through Maine, NH and VT was trial by fire to say the least!
